What the Potamia Carnival is
Every year, on the last Sunday of carnival, Potamia on Thassos fills with floats, masks and satire. The custom is very old — Dionysian, as the association's name says — and the float parade has taken its present form since 1987. It is run by the «Dionysos» Folklore and Cultural Association, on volunteer work, with the whole village behind it.
